DECISION MAKING
Where do you turn for sound judgment when you have important decisions to make? How to raise children for example? Recently a southern state passed a law making it illegal so spank your child! Murder is frowned upon, but abortion is acceptable. Divorce is acceptable, even preferable for thousands. The Bible calls sex outside marriage sinful "immorality." Our society accepts it as normal, and great fun. How about money decisions? Whose advice do you trust? Decisions about your job, about where to live, about medical issues, home repairs, how to spend your time, and ....you get the idea.
It seems to me that all of us basically go to some source we 'hope' is trustworthy or take advice from someone who has "been there." How has that worked out for you? I can recall (shudder) a lot of bad decisions. But, as the guru says, "the way you learn to make good decisions, is by making bad ones."
Well, I have come to the firm conclusion that the only trustworthy source for me...is God's Word. God promises to lead and direct us in the way we should go-all the time. He never leaves us..."I am with you always, even to the end of the age." The Bible tells us all we need to know about all the above question/decisions!! He knows all about sex, marriage, money, children, work, crooks, enemies, outcomes. He knows us, and He knows the future-and He loves us! Yet...we go to nearly every other source in the world besides Him for decision making! Its insane when you think about it, isn't it? And even when we know what He says, we don't listen, or obey Him (insanity plus).
So tell me....do you think there is a time when children need to be spanked?
What about all those other nearly daily issues? What is your source?
