HARD OF HEARING
I know a few people who think that what they know is all there is to know. But as someone has said, "it is a great deception to believe that what you perceive is the extent of all there is to perceive..." (or something like that). And today, I read in Acts\ 28.26 where Paul says, "Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive; for the hearts of this people have grown dull..."
We all are guilty of knowing things we do not 'own' or truly believe, and the reason for that is our hearts have grown dull. That is why there is so little understanding. So what we really need is not more information, but perception. Dull hearts do not 'perceive.'
It is no fun being hard of hearing, and weak of vision because both diminish what really matters, and that is 'understanding.'
What to do? The internet, for example, is an endless incredible source of hearing and seeing overload, but where does 'perception' and 'understanding' come from? God is the only one who can deliver on what really maters, through the indwelling Holy Spirit. We "have everything we need for life and godliness" and that includes the understanding and wisdom and perception that we need. So the answer is simple: abide in Christ. Submit by faith to His leading, walk in the light as He is in the light, and in whom there is no darkness at all. Insight, perception, understanding will follow. Would you like that?
You don't have to be hard of hearing, and visually impaired any more, and that is more good news!
