HOLY SPIRIT series #6     HERE'S HOW 

The most amazing part of all that God has done for us, is His plan to actually live in us in the Person of the Holy Spirit !! His indwelling presence enables us to live a life of joy and purpose that pleases God, and allows God to use us in His eternal work of saving people from their sins. By far the most important thing available to any believer on the planet is to discover how to let Christ live His life in me..That is what really matters! 
For that to happen, first of all you must know Christ as your personal savior, but that is just the beginning, the entrance into a living fellowship with God on a daily basis. That fellowship requires that you accept the reality of being "dead to sin," which is a function of believing what God says. God's amazing love planned for Christ to provide for our sin problem by dying on the cross to pay the penalty for all our sins (all means all --forever). Then He declares us to be in Christ, covered with His righteousness, and "dead" to sin. Believers are endowed by God with the same relationship to sin that Christ has... that is, sin has no more power over us. (Rom 6 ). 
This delightful fellowship also requires a very high level of obedience to all that God says, which means that we are really serious about obeying God in everything. No one can be controlled by the Holy Spirit without implicit, conscious, willing, and continuous obedience to our Holy Sovereign God. 
Then, since pride is utterly repugnant to God [He hates it], we must allow God to remove it from us and replace it with His humility. The Biblical meaning of humility is "dependence on God." That is exactly how Jesus lived His life! And when we, by faith, put Him in control, He will live His life...today...through us. Romans 12.1 calls this the reasonable, rational, intelligent way to live. 

Many folks do not yet realize the incredible importance of these truths, and try to accomplish (in the energy of the flesh) what only God can do. They are trying to use more effort, more meetings, conferences, books, music, events, and programs to replace the control of the Holy Spirit. All those things may be good, but simply cannot substitute for the work of the Holy Spirit within.

Faith in what God says, is the rock-solid irreplaceable foundation for being all God has for us, that is, abiding in Christ. It is a matter of taking God at His word, finding out and believing what He says. If you do, at the end God will say "well done." You cannot have more than that, and you need not have less!
