MARRIAGE DESIGN
Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Psa 34.3
Jan and I have had that desire now for 58 plus years, and just lately have had the privilege of sharing it with a number of our young friends as they are preparing for marriage. Marriage is God's idea, He designed it perfectly to reflect a heavenly relationship. Within that design, is truly heaven on earth. Outside the 'oneness' that God planned, that is, if you leave God out of your daily married life ...misery, depression, broken hearts, selfishness, anger, tragedy, Sad stuff. You can read about it every day in the news, and probably know about it up close as well!
Another area of God's miraculous design is the human heart, the one that pumps the blood! What makes it beat? In the right upper side of the heart, in the right atrium is a pea-sized little cluster of specialized cells called the SA node. It sends out electrical impulses about 60 to 120 times per minute. It does this without any outside help, wires or batteries (although it can be modified by the sympathetic nervous system, and some drugs, but it has no known source of power, and it continues to function even when removed from the body! These electric signals travel down through the heart until they reach the AV node, another special cluster of cells in the center of the heart. This node serves as a gate that slows the current enough to allow the ventricles to finish the previous pumping cycle before they are stimulated again. After passing the AV node the current travels to the ventricles along special fibers embedded in the walls of the lower part of the heart. The ventricles then contract, forcing the blood out into the blood vessels. That is just the beginning of what goes on there! It is an unbelievably complicated, marvelous, intricate, miraculous design, still poorly understood to this day Totally awesome methinks!!.
That is just one of a myriad reasons our life-purpose should be to "exalt His name together."
