"A position of influence is greater than a position of authority"

The Influence ------ Of wives; good — and bad.

Consider Eve's influence on Adam!

Priscilla & Aquilla A wonderfully effective couple. Read about them in Acts 8.1,2 & 23-28.

Prov 21:9 "Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife."

Prov 21:19 "Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife."
Prov 25:24 "Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrel

some wife."

Prov 31:10 "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders

of the

land." 31 "Give her the reward she has earned, and let  her works bring her praise

at the city gate."

Prov 14:1 "The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish

one tears hers down."

Prov 19:13-14 "A foolish son is his father's ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like a

constant dripping. Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife

is from the LORD."

Prov 12:4 "A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife i

s like decay in his bones."

Psa 128:3 "Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be

like olive shoots around your table."

Titus 2:3-5 "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live,

not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then

they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be

self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to

their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

Soloman: 1 Ki 11:4 "As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other

gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of

 David his father had been."

Abigail prevented David from slaughtering Nabal and his family 1 Samuel 25.

Jezebel (ugh) 1 Kings 21:7 "Jezebel his wife said, "Is this how you act as king

over Israel? Get up and eat! Cheer up. I'll get you the vineyard of Naboth the

Jezreelite." —And she had Naboth murdered.

Consider Queen Vashti, and Esther....in the book of Esther.

How about Delilah and what she did to Samson! Judges 16.

            And Sara, Abraham's wife.

Does the influence you exert on your husband,

cause him to be a godly man?
